Work from Tom Wiscombe's SCI-Arc Research Seminar: ''Supercomponents and Metaseams'' will be on view at the Architectural Record Innovation Conference- May 21st.

Led by SCI-Arc design faculty Tom Wiscombe- with Robot Lab coordinator Jake Newsum and robotics researcher Curime Batliner- the ''Squished II: Supercomponents and Metaseams'' seminar explores the renewed relevance of the joint and the seam in contemporary composite construction.

The project presented here- created by Cheng Lu- Brennen Huller and Nikita Troufanov- involved the design and build of custom end-of-arm tools for the assembly of composite parts using 6-axis robot arms in the SCI-Arc Robot House.
